Bellam semya

Jaggery vermicelli(semya) is very healthy dish and it is also very good for kids. Most of the kids not to take jaggery so we serve in this way.

Unlike sugar, jaggery is rich in minerals, mainly iron with traces of other mineral salts. Therefore, jaggery is a very good source of minerals for the body.

Even jaggery cleans respiratory tracts, lungs, food pipe, stomach and intestine, and it aids in digestion & reduces constipation.

Ingredients

vermicelli - 1 cups
jaggery - 3/4 cup
cardamom powder - 1 table spoon
water - 2 cups
milk - 1 cup
ghee - 3 table spoons
cashew, almond(badham), dry fruits - 1/2 cup

Procedure

Take a pan and heat ghee in the pan and fry cashew, almond, kismis and keep aside.

Add vermicelli and stir it well until it turn light golden color.

Add water to it, stir well.

And add jaggery to it and mix well.

Keep stirring and cook on a slow fame till it's slightly cook.

Then add cardamom powder add milk when the vermicelli cooked, and swich off the flame.

Mix it well and add fried dry fruits, finally the jaggery semya is ready.
